Tripz v6.5.2717 is live!
I’m happy to announce that we have released Tripz v6.5.2717 to all of our customers.
This is a maintenance release and it provides a few very useful features and fixes. Here is what is new:
Enhancements
- We have added a middle name to the customer contact record.
This will help comply with new border and airline regulations which require a customer’s legal name as it appears on their passport.
Fixes
- We have improved the handling of birth date entry in the customer record. The year now defaults to 1900 and you can enter a month and day that is later than today without it stopping you.
- We have improved the calculation of a client’s age so that it calculates exactly to the day. In the past it was only to the year.
This will help in ensuring that ages are calculated exactly which is important for entry into casinos and for calculating insurance.
With these updates you are able to more easily handle client entry whether it is adding an all-important middle name or knowing their age calculated precisely to the day.
Cheers,

Tripz v6.5.2030 is live!
I’m happy to announce that we have released Tripz v6.5.2030 to all of our customers. The main theme of this update is improved support for credit card processing.
Here is what is new:
- We have updated the Payment Processing Module to allow you to accept online Credit Card Payments from any Tripz Payment screen in the Tripz backoffice application. This applies to the tour booking, partial tour booking, quicksale, booking invoice and ledger tab screens in all contact records.
- The online credit card payment feature is now available during a booking for individual as well as recurring payments using the Tripz Payment Plan feature. It now also properly handles credit card payments that are declined by the processor.
- We have enhanced the Customer Record with a “Card Payments” Tab that displays a customer’s online credit card payments. The customer’s card information is securely maintained so that it cannot be stolen.
- We have added a new “Status” field to the Invoice to display the status of online payments.
- We have increased the size of the Website Posting Notes field in the Edit Tour screen. You can now include much longer descriptions, up to 4000 characters, in this field.
- We have added a new Marketing Brochure Report that displays a listing of tours you are promoting. You can manage this from the Promotions tab of the Tour Module and print it from the Edit Tour–>Promotions screen as well as the Reports–>Marketing–>Tour Brochure menu.
We have also provided a number of fixes for issues that were reported by our customers.
We plan to host a webinar shortly showing clients how to take advantage of this latest Tripz update.

I’m happy to announce that we have released Tripz v6.5.1910 to all of our customers.
It includes the TourBuilder enhancement I spoke about in my last post and adds a few new features as well. We have increased the performance of TourBuilder by over 90% with this release. This is a significant milestone for us as TourBuilder is a very important and heavily used module by our customers.
We plan to host a webinar shortly showing clients how to take advantage of this latest Tripz update.

A newer, faster TourBuilder
Since we built the TourBuilder module several years ago, we’ve been impressed with how it has made life easier for many of you.
However, with success comes the need to continually improve and reinvent if one is to stay on the leading edge. We’ve noticed that a number of you have been working with larger worksheets (>20 items) and this has caused TourBuilder to not work as quickly as you would have liked.

Well we listened and we have delivered.
We have moved all of the automatic functions that were slowing things down to their own button “Update Calculations.” This means worksheets now load in a fraction of the time they used to. And it also means that you are no longer bogged down when you are moving around the worksheet making changes on the fly. You simply click on “Update Calculations” when you want to update with the latest changes.
We will be sending out builds for beta testing by key clients. Once we’re happy we have addressed any issues we will include this in the next Tripz release.
Cheers,
Kurt

Upload and store anything in the cloud with Google Docs
Our favourite cloud partner, Google, has made a huge leap forward that will benefit Tripz clients who make use of the Google cloud for storing files.
Now you can use Google Docs to store ANY file online. In turn these can be linked to customer, vendor, agent and tour records in Tripz.
This is a HUGE advancement for Google and the Document Management capabilities in Tripz.
